HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Lake County Crime Stoppers on the occasion of the organization's 30th year of service to the communities of Lake County; and

WHEREAS, For the last 3 decades, Lake County Crime Stoppers has sought to provide the highest quality confidential informant services based on fairness, honesty, integrity, and pride; and

WHEREAS, Crime Stoppers strives to improve services through problem solving and partnerships with Lake County citizens to insure a safe place in which to live, work, and visit; and

WHEREAS, Lake County Crime Stoppers has helped keep its community safe through the hard work and dedication of its volunteers and donors; and

WHEREAS, Citizens who witness or have information regarding a crime can call in anonymously with their tip to Crime Stoppers; if this tip leads to an arrest, they can receive a cash award up to $1,000; and

WHEREAS, This anonymous crime-fighting program has helped increase the safety of Lake County residents for the past 30 years, leading to thousands of felony arrests, the recovery of millions in stolen property, the collection of illegal guns, and the removal of narcotics off the streets; and

WHEREAS, The Lake County Crime Stoppers provides an invaluable resource for residents in their communities to work alongside volunteers, donors, law enforcement, and the public in order to provide a safer community for all those of live, work, and visit Lake County; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Lake County Crime Stoppers on the occasion of the organization's 30th year of service to their community and wish the organization continued success in the years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Lake County Crime Stoppers as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
