HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that honor and respect is paid to those individuals who gave their lives in service to the State; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James P. Morrissy of Oak Forest; and

WHEREAS, James Morrissy was a resident of Oak Forest and served as a police officer for more than 30 years; and

WHEREAS, James Morrissy was the first officer from the Oak Forest Police Department to die in the line-of-duty; and

WHEREAS, James Morrissy was the beloved husband of Janice (nee Loughery); the loving father of Kyle, Marc, and Jake Morrissy; the devoted son of the late John E. and Eunice (nee Risku); the fond brother of Michael (Maureen), Colleen, Sean (Cathy) Morrissy, and the late Donald (Deborah) Morrissy; and the kind uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James P. Morrissy, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Morrissy as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
