SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Roger Burritt Morrison of Arlington Heights, who passed away on February 27, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Roger Morrison was born on October 10, 1930 to Donald and Marion (nee Lasier) Morrison; he graduated from Highland Park High School in 1949 and studied 2 years at the American Academy of Art in Chicago; he served in the United States Air Force as a refueling pilot from 1951 to 1955; and

WHEREAS, Roger Morrison worked for the Leo Burnett Advertising Agency and the John Birch Society before opening one of the first quick print shops in Glenview, "Printing While You Wait"; and

WHEREAS, Roger Morrison and his first wife, Susan, were founding members of the Church of Christian Liberty in 1965; and

WHEREAS, Roger Morrison was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Susan (nee Teegarden); his brother, Robert; and his sister, Jane Burns; and

WHEREAS, Roger Morrison is survived by his sister, Mary (Robert) Cash; his sons, Mark (Donna), Scott (Missy), Thomas (Bethany), and Robert (Sheri); his second wife, Florie (nee Lindstrom); and her children, Karla (Mike) McHugh, Kimberly (David) Rapp, Peter (Callie) Lindstrom, and Calvin (Rebekah) Lindstrom; and their combined 35 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Roger Burritt Morrison, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Roger Morrison as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
