SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James H. Davis of Peoria, who passed away on March 20, 2014; and

WHEREAS, James Davis was born on June 2, 1932 in Frankford, Missouri; his parents were Jessie James and Elenora (nee Blackwell) Davis; he married Marjorie Davis on July 29, 1983 in Hannibal, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, James Davis served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; and

WHEREAS, James Davis worked at Sears & Roebuck as a forklift driver; he also worked as an 18-wheel driver for American Recreation Products Inc.; and

WHEREAS, James Davis was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Junior Campbell and Wayne Campbell; and his sisters, Barbara Williams and Della Mae Campbell; and

WHEREAS, James Davis is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marjorie Davis; his sons, Henry (Sally) Blackwell and Sheldon Davis; his daughter, Linda Davis; his brothers, Gaylon (Kara) Davis, Carlos (Renee) Davis, Mike (Elaine) Davis, and Jim (Kris) Davis; his sisters, Doris Ann Keys and Jessica Davis; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of James H. Davis; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Davis as an expression of our sympathy.
