SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Aurella M. "Ora" Hall of Aurora, who
4passed away on February 12, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Aurella Hall was born May 4, 1916, in Minot, North
6Dakota; her parents were Lester and Jessie (Vickerman) Reckord;
7she married Foster F. Hall on October 12, 1935; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Aurella Hall was a member of the Salvation Army
9for 91 years and served in many facets of the church and its
10outreach, including the food pantry, for many years; she was
11also active in the South Park Fire District Auxiliary; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Aurella Hall and her husband were foster parents
13to over 500 children over a 39-year period and were twice named
14Kane County Foster Parents of the Year, the first time when
15they reached the 300 child mark and the second time in 1965;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Aurella Hall was preceded in death by her parents;
18her husband; her sister, Vera Stemmett; and her son-in-law,
19Rev. Robert Elliott; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Aurella Hall is survived by her daughter, Frances

1Elliott; her son, Foster F. Hall, Jr.; her grandchildren, James
2Elliott, Carolyn (Richard III) Excell, Sean Hall, Joshua Hall,
3and David Hall; her great grandchildren, Richard IV, Lauren,
4and Kayleigh Excell; and her many nieces and nephews;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8her family and friends, the passing of Aurella M. "Ora" Hall;
9and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Aurella Hall as an expression of our
12sympathy.
