SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary Ann Dykstra, who passed away on
4December 5, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra was born in the winter during the
61920s to Carl Swanson and Della Irene Fry; she graduated from
7East Aurora High School and attended the University of
8Illinois; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra was an enthusiastic world
10traveler, a gifted artist in a variety of media, a colorful
11employee of The Knit Shop, a committed community volunteer, and
12a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra was a member of New England
14Congregational Church; she was also a member of the Chicago Art
15Institute, the Aurora Art League, the Aurora Historical
16Society, the Aurora Country Club, the Pressed Glass, and the
17Gamma Phi Beta Sorority; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra was a long-time family friend of
19former Illinois State Senator Chris and Sarah Lauzen; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra was preceded in death by her

1parents, and by her husband, Dr. Lewis A. Dykstra; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Dykstra is survived by her daughters
3Chris and Carole; her grandson, Jeffery Boone; and by the
4Dykstra children, Anne, Kris, and John; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Mary Ann Dykstra, and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Mary Ann Dykstra as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
