SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Louis A. Ciuffini of Lockport, who passed away on May 16, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Louis Ciuffini was born in Joliet and was a lifelong Lockport resident; and

WHEREAS, Louis Ciuffini served in the Civilian Conservation Corps; he also served in the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Louis Ciuffini was the owner and operator of Ciuffini Trucking for many years until his retirement in 1985; and

WHEREAS, Louis Ciuffini was a member of St. John Vianney Church, Joliet Veterans of Foreign Wars Stone City Post #2199, Lockport American Legion John Olson Post #18, the Fairmont Rod and Gun Club, the Joliet East Side Athletic Club, the Belmont Athletic Club, and the American-Italian Cultural Society; and

WHEREAS, Louis Ciuffini was preceded in death by his loving wife, Fern (nee Bell); his parents, Uldirico and Mary (nee Di Domenic); 3 sisters, Frances, Julia, and Minnie; and 3 brothers, Ernie, Benjamin, and Orlando; and

WHEREAS, Louis Ciuffini is survived by his devoted children, Louis (Kimberly), Steven (Korina), Marsha (Steven) Gravley, Sr. Jean Marie Ciuffini, OSF, and Anna (Monte) Sande; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Louis A. Ciuffini; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Louis Ciuffini as an expression of our sympathy.
