SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leo Koncan of North Chicago, who passed
4away on May 29, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leo Koncan was born in North Chicago on April 5,
61931 to John and Frances Koncan; he was a 4-year veteran of the
7Korean War, serving on the USS Saipan; he married Lorraine
8Kopier on August 22, 1953; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Leo Koncan retired as a fireman/paramedic after 31
10years with the North Chicago Fire Department; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Leo Koncan was preceded in death by his brothers,
12John (Julia) Koncan and Bill Koncan; sisters, Sylvia (John)
13Zaugra and Phyllis (Joe) Foltz; and brothers-in-law, Vince
14Zaker, Glenn Stevens, and George Rumpza; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Leo Koncan is survived by his wife of 60 years,
16Lorraine; his daughters, Karen (Pete) DePerte, Janice (Brian)
17Bell, and Beth Campion (loving friend Andy Runyard);
18grandchildren, Vito DePerte, Adrienne (Mark) Mulvaney, Kendra
19Harris (fiance Ivan Rios), and Lia Campion (fiance Hunter
20Beesch); his great-grandchildren, Shayla and Brianna Mulvaney,
21who called him 'Old Papa'; his brother, Tom (Lois) Koncan;

1sister, Loretta Zaker; sisters-in-law, Bea Koncan, Barb
2Rumpza, and Dorothy (Roger) Cvik; and a host of loving nieces
3and nephews; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Leo Koncan, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
7friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Leo Koncan as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
