SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John E. "Jack" Smith of Beach Park, who
4passed away on May 24, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jack Smith was born on December 20, 1936 in
6Sedalia, Missouri, and was a Waukegan resident most of his
7life, living in Beach Park for the past 22 years; he graduated
8from the University of Kansas with an accounting degree, and
9was a veteran of the United States Air Force; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jack Smith retired from Abbott Laboratories; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jack Smith enjoyed sailing, racing sailboats, and
12was commodore of the Waukegan Yacht Club in 1988; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jack Smith was preceded in death by his parents,
14Elgin and Dorothy Smith; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jack Smith was survived by his wife, Debbie Smith;
16his daughter, Kelly (Richard) Luteijn; grandson, Finn; 2
17sisters, Sue Bastin and Judy Schuck; sister-in-law, Kim (John)
18Guercio; and his special poodles, Tiffani and Tinkerbell;
19therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3John E. "Jack" Smith, and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Jack Smith as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
