SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Ann Kaucic, who passed away on July 25, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Mary Kaucic was born on March 18, 1932 to Paul and Anna (nee Stanczak) Rygiel; she graduated from Holy Rosary Grade School in 1946 and Holy Child High School in Waukegan in 1950; she married Frank Kaucic on May 10, 1958; and

WHEREAS, Mary Kaucic worked as a clerk at the Great Lakes Naval Base and dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker; and

WHEREAS, Mary Kaucic was a Eucharistic Minister at Queen of Peace (Most Blessed Trinity) and a member of the Sodality of Our Lady and the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America; she enjoyed baking, bowling, and golf; she also enjoyed her garden, especially her roses, and could often be seen wearing orchids which were tokens of love from her husband; and

WHEREAS, Mary Kaucic was preceded in death by parents; her brothers, Paul, Al, Joseph, and Edward (Weaser) Rygiel; and her sisters, Tillie Beres, Millie Macrowski, and Adeline Wozniak; and

WHEREAS, Mary Kaucic was the devoted wife of Frank; the loving mother of Barbara (Matt) Brown and Cheryl (Tom) Norstrem; the proud grandmother of David and Ben Brown and Cassie, Melissa, and Christopher Norstrem; and the sister of John (Betty) Rygiel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary Ann Kaucic, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Kaucic as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
