SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jody Lee Alsup-Young of Lindenwood, who passed away on September 21, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Jody Alsup-Young was born in Sandwich on May 30, 1975 to Michael and Barbara (nee Smith) Alsup; she graduated from DeKalb High School in 1993 and the Kishwaukee College Nursing Program and attended Northern Illinois University; she married Scott David Young on October 6, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Jody Alsup-Young worked as a nurse at the office of Dr. Ignacio Omengan and for the Order of St. Francis of Assissi Saint Anthony Medical Center, both in Rockford; and

WHEREAS, Jody Alsup-Young enjoyed doing crafts, such as scrapbooking and photography; she was active in her sons' school functions in Lindenwood and volunteered as a technician for infant and child car seats; and

WHEREAS, Jody Alsup-Young was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Mary Alsup-Alvis; maternal grandparents, A. Lee Smith and Virgil Smith; aunt and uncle, Phyllis and Tom Perkins; uncle, Christopher Alsup; and step-grandfather, Clyde Alvis; and

WHEREAS, Jody Alsup-Young is survived by her husband, Scott; sons, Garrett and Jacob Hackbarth; parents, Mike and Barb Alsup; brother, Michael J. (Jenny) Alsup; 3 nephews and a niece; her paternal grandfather, Joseph Alsup; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; her mother-in-law, Mary Hopp; and 2 sisters-in-law, Stephanie Young and Stacy Young; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jody Lee Alsup-Young, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jody Alsup-Young as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
