SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Julius "Jerry" Cullen of Waukegan, who passed away on November 11, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Julius Cullen was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 13, 1943; he grew up in New York and later moved to Illinois; he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; he served 2 tours and earned a Bronze Star; he married Nancy Ann Duley on June 6, 1987 in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Julius Cullen enjoyed watching football with his son, Michael, while eating the famous pound cake made by his daughter, Ashley Megan; he was a "BBQ Master", a big Dallas Cowboys fan, and most of all, a best friend to his precious grandson, Nolan; and

WHEREAS, Julius Cullen was preceded in death by his parents and sisters; and

WHEREAS, Julius Cullen is survived by his wife of over 27 years, Nancy; his children; his son-in-law; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; his in-laws; his aunt; his cousin; his nephews; and many friends who loved and supported him; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Julius "Jerry" Cullen, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Julius Cullen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
