SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Anna Helmer of Mount Prospect, who passed
4away on November 24, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Anna Helmer was born in Zerne, Yugoslavia on March
628, 1923 to Elizabeth Himpelmann Brichta (nee Vive) and Johann
7Brichta; she emigrated from Austria in 1950 with her son and
8mother; her husband, who was liberated from a European POW
9camp, joined the family in 1952; the family lived in Chicago
10and Park Ridge and finally settled in Mount Prospect; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Anna Helmer was very active with the Donauschwaben
12Society of Chicago in Des Plaines, where she worked in the
13kitchen and served the seniors there until the age of 88; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Anna Helmer was preceded in death by her parents;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Anna Helmer was the devoted wife of the late
17Fabian Helmer; the loving mother of Nicholas J. (Gail) Helmer
18and Rosemarie (Larry) Garlasco; the loving grandmother of
19Rebecca (Anthony) Jacob, Nicholas J. Helmer, II, and Scott
20Garlasco; she is also survived by her great-grandchildren,
21Kelly and Kate Helmer and Nicholas and Jillian Jacob; and by

1her sister, Rosalia Jivoin; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Anna Helmer, and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
5friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Anna Helmer as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
