SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dale O. Dobbins of Morton, who passed
4away on May 1, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dale Dobbins was born on November 8, 1940, in
6Peoria to Russell and Helen Clauson Dobbins; he married Leslie
7Burlison on June 8, 1963, in Peoria; he served in the U.S. Army
8and graduated from Bradley University in 1963, where he was a
9member of Alpha Kappa Psi; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dale Dobbins worked for Peoria Distributors of
11Quality as an accountant and retired in 2005, previously he
12worked at Baker-Hauser and Sturm Freightways; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dale Dobbins was a member of the South-West
14Kiwanis, serving as their treasurer for many years; he also
15served as treasurer of the Central Illinois Youth Symphony for
16many years; he was a member of United Presbyterian Church in
17Peoria, where he served as an elder and helped organize
18transportation for the elderly of the church and was an avid
19fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bradley University basketball; he
20enjoyed model trains and visits from his grandchildren and
21friends; and

1    WHEREAS, Dale Dobbins was preceded in death by his first
2wife, Leslie and his parents; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Dale Dobbins is survived by his second wife, Jane
4Romack, whom he married on November 6, 2004, in Washington; his
5children Jane (Terrence) Lindsey, Steven (Kim) Dobbins, Cathy
6(Steven) Stella, and Jim (Emily) Dobbins; his grandchildren,
7Ross, Owen, Breanne, Michael, Liam, Branden, Abby, Sydney, and
8Hayden; his brother, David (Pat) Dobbins; and his beloved dog,
9Maxine; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Dale Dobbins, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
13friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Dale Dobbins as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
