SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Candice Lynnell Johnson of Chicago, who passed away on April 27, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Candice Johnson was born on July 23, 1990, to Clay and Cynthia Johnson in Chicago; she graduated from Seton Academy in 2008 and attended Purdue University Calumet, where she was studying computer graphics; and

WHEREAS, Candice Johnson accepted Christ on March 31, 2013, at Resurrection House Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, Candice Johnson enjoyed dancing and was a member of one of Chicago's top dance groups, "CYDC"; she was a great artist, hair stylist, singer, and had many talents; and

WHEREAS, Candice Johnson was preceded in death by her brother, Clay Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Candice Johnson is survived by her parents; her siblings, Judice (Baten), Curtis (Amy), LaTosha (Detrick), Shena (Joseph), Carlos (Nastasia), and Clay III (Mechelle); her nieces and nephews, Stephen (Melissa), Jasmin, Kendall, C.J., Corey, Evan, Ethan, LeVandis, Christyle, Aaliyah, Diamond, Alea, DaJha, Terry, Carlos Jr., and Carla; her great niece, Maliyia; her God daughter, Cherish; her dogs, Sam and Moet; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Candice Johnson, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Candice Johnson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
