SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Nicholas John Meyer of Lockport, who passed away on June 9, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Meyer was born in Joliet; he had completed his freshman year at Lockport Township High School (LTHS); and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Meyer enjoyed school and all of his teachers especially Mrs. Craig, Mr. Jeglinski, Mrs. Stachnik, Ms. McAllister, and Ms. Gustafson and he liked to spend time helping in the East Campus attendance office with Mrs. Fraser and Mrs. Bellair; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Meyer always looked forward to Friday night LTHS basketball games and watching his dad in action coaching; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Meyer's favorite activity was horseback riding on Big Joe and Big Al at Nova Quarter Horses in Mokena and enjoyed many laughs with instructors Nicole and Ross; he also enjoyed camping at Silver Lake Michigan with his family and his dog, "Duke"; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Meyer is survived by his parents, John Sr. and Diane (Ramos) Meyer; his brothers, Kyle Petges, Chris Petges, and John Meyer Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Joyce Ramos; his paternal grandparents, John and Anita Meyer; his special friend, Emily; his neighbor and friend, Paul Bertino; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Nicholas Meyer, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friend, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Nicholas Meyer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
