SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rudolph Joseph Padilla of North Chicago, who passed away on July 24, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla was born on September 1, 1929 in Libertyville; his parents were Manuel and Elodia (nee Mejia) Padilla; he married Alicia Anguiano on July 13, 1957 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla graduated from Waukegan Township High School; he subsequently earned his Bachelor of Arts from Mexico City College and his Master of Arts from Roosevelt University; he also attended Carthage College to attain his special education certification; and

WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla served as a member of the United States Armed Forces in Greenland during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla retired from the Waukegan Public School system in 1994 after 26 years of service; he later retired from the College of Lake County in 2008 after 17 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Aroldo Ramos; and

WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla is survived by his former wife, Alicia Padilla; his daughters, Martha Padilla-Ramos, Margaret (Tomas) Carrasco, and Nancy (Joseph) Sgarbossa; his granddaughters, Angelina Ramos and Lysett Carrasco; his brothers, Joseph Padilla and Edward Padilla; his sisters, Delores (Martin) Perez and Lena (Frank) Calderon; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Rudolph Joseph Padilla; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rudolph Padilla as an expression of our sympathy.
