SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rudolph Joseph Padilla of North Chicago,
4who passed away on July 24, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla was born on September 1, 1929 in
6Libertyville; his parents were Manuel and Elodia (nee Mejia)
7Padilla; he married Alicia Anguiano on July 13, 1957 at St.
8Joseph Catholic Church in Waukegan; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla graduated from Waukegan Township
10High School; he subsequently earned his Bachelor of Arts from
11Mexico City College and his Master of Arts from Roosevelt
12University; he also attended Carthage College to attain his
13special education certification; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla served as a member of the United
15States Armed Forces in Greenland during the Korean War; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla retired from the Waukegan Public
17School system in 1994 after 26 years of service; he later
18retired from the College of Lake County in 2008 after 17 years
19of service; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla was preceded in death by his

1parents and his son-in-law, Aroldo Ramos; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Rudolph Padilla is survived by his former wife,
3Alicia Padilla; his daughters, Martha Padilla-Ramos, Margaret
4(Tomas) Carrasco, and Nancy (Joseph) Sgarbossa; his
5granddaughters, Angelina Ramos and Lysett Carrasco; his
6brothers, Joseph Padilla and Edward Padilla; his sisters,
7Delores (Martin) Perez and Lena (Frank) Calderon; and his many
8nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of Rudolph Joseph
12Padilla; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Rudolph Padilla as an expression of
15our sympathy.
