SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael S. Meyer of Springfield, who passed away on September 10, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Michael Meyer was born on April 29, 1983 in Springfield; his mother was Patricia Meyer; and

WHEREAS, Michael Meyer attended Lanphier High School in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Michael Meyer was a graduate of the United States Army Airborne and Army Air Assault School and served his country as a member of the Army National Guard; and

WHEREAS, Michael Meyer was a member of the American Legion Post # 32; he enjoyed playing with his son, nieces, and nephews and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees; and

WHEREAS, Michael Meyer was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Wilma Meyer, and his uncle, John Meyer; and

WHEREAS, Michael Meyer is survived by his mother, Patricia Meyer; his son, Jackson Knox-Meyer; his siblings, Amy (Jamie) Kavanagh, Stacey (Ray) Bishop, Jaela (fiance, Butch) Newbold, Joshua (fiancee, Samantha) Meyer, and John Meyer; and his many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Michael S. Meyer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Meyer as an expression of our sympathy.
