SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barbara (nee Slobe) Donohue of Waukegan, who passed away on November 19, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Donohue was born on January 21, 1940 in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Donohue retired from the credit department at Abbott Laboratories after many years of service; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Donohue was an accomplished golfer and was the Illinois Women's Amateur Champion in 1958; she was also a member of the Waukegan Sports Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Donohue was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louise Slobe; her daughter, Dana Donohue; and her son-in-law, George (Michael) Chase; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Donohue is survived by her daughter, Dina Chase; her son, Thomas (Carole) Donohue; her brother, Thomas (Karen) Slobe; and her granddaughters, Madelynn Chase and Claire and Corinne Donohue; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Barbara Donohue; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barbara Donohue as an expression of our sympathy.
