SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert Miller, who passed away on January 21, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Robert Miller was born in Joliet; he attended A.O. Marshall Grade School and Joliet Township High School, where he graduated in 1947; and

WHEREAS, Robert Miller served his country as a member of the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Robert Miller was employed as a conductor with the EJ&E Railroad for many years until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Robert Miller was a member of the Freemasons and the National Rifle Association; and

WHEREAS, Robert Miller was preceded in death by his parents, Howard L. and Ruth Miller, and his brother, Howard L. Miller; and

WHEREAS, Robert Miller is survived by his sister-in-law, Rita Miller; his nieces, Amy (Kevin Laurie) Miller-Laurie and Jane (Dennis Kennedy) Miller; his nephew, Steven Miller; his sister, Barbara (William) Bethel; his brother, Richard (Betty) Miller; his niece, Nancy Piper; his nephews, John Bethel, James Bethel, and Donald Bethel; and his many cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Robert Miller; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Miller as an expression of our sympathy.
