SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frank R. Witt of Wheaton, who passed away on December 24, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Frank Witt was born in Chicago and moved with his family to Franklin Park when he was a teenager; he graduated from Leyden High School in 1951, briefly attended Elmhurst College, and served a stint in the U.S. Army; and

WHEREAS, Frank Witt was the golf professional at Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville from the time it opened in 1963 until 1993; he taught hundreds of members how to improve their game; he participated in the PGA's winter tour, regularly competing in weekly tour events; and

WHEREAS, In retirement, Frank Witt continued to share his knowledge with golfers on a part-time basis, providing instruction at the White Eagle Golf Club in Naperville and at Cantigny Golf in Wheaton; and

WHEREAS, Frank Witt is survived by his second wife, Judy; his son, David Witt; his daughters, Michelle Burge, Suzanne Tullar, and Paula Enderby; his brothers, George and Michael; his 6 grandchildren; his 3 step-daughters; his 3 step-grandchildren; and his step-great-grandchild; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Frank Witt, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Witt as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
