SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joan M. Kelly, who died peacefully
4surrounded by family and friends after a 15-year battle with
5brain cancer; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Joan Kelly was the beloved wife of Kevin for 28
7years, the loving mother of Kate, Margaret, and Shannon, the
8"Nana" to her grandchild, Kennedy, a dedicated member of the
9Evanston community, and a devoted friend; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Joan Kelly worked for 25 years in the banking
11industry as a banker, lender, branch manager, and vice
12president; she was known for the exemplary service she provided
13to her clients in good times and bad times; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joan Kelly was passionate about her part-time
15teaching position at Northwestern University and was an active
16member of her Rotary Club; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Joan Kelly was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic
18Church and a treasured part of the Second Baptist Church
19family; she will be remembered by her family and friends for
20her love of gospel music; and

1    WHEREAS, In the face of a devastating disease and difficult
2treatments, Joan Kelly continued to be active in her workplace
3and in her community for as long as possible, gathering joy and
4strength from her clients, neighbors, family, and close
5friends; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Joan Kelly is remembered, celebrated, and missed
7by her husband, daughters, grandchild, father, sisters,
8brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many friends; therefore,
9be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Joan M. Kelly; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Joan Kelly as an expression of our
16sympathy.
