SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of former State Representative Robert L.
4"Bob" Bergman of Palatine, who passed away on November 29,
52013; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Robert Bergman was born on November 10, 1948 in
7Elgin; his parents were Vernon and Marion (nee Luerssen)
8Bergman; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Bergman was a graduate of Palatine High
10School; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Bergman and his father worked together in
12the family trucking business, Bergman Trucking; he was later
13elected to serve as Palatine Township Highway Commissioner, a
14position he held for 24 years; he subsequently worked for the
15Illinois Secretary of State and served as an Illinois State
16Representative for one term; following his service to the State
17of Illinois, he worked for Arrow Road Construction, where he
18remained until the time of his retirement in 2012, all the
19while maintaining local political consultation and campaign
20management; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Robert Bergman was preceded in death by his

1mother, Marion, and his brother, John Bergman; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Robert Bergman is survived by his dear father,
3Vernon Bergman; his children, Jessica, Robert, and Daniel
4Bergman and Jennifer Schwartz; his grandchildren, Annabelle
5and Riley Bergman, Malcolm and Dominic Filichia, and Griffin
6and Hunter Schwartz; his siblings, Daniel (Gayle) and Tom (Lis)
7Bergman; and his nieces and nephews, Cari, Amanda, Katie,
8Thomas. Kathy, Karla, Derik, and Shane; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of former State
12Representative Robert L. "Bob" Bergman; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Robert Bergman as an expression of
15our sympathy.
