SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles Patrick Bohn of Alton, who passed
4away on January 30, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Bohn was born on December 3, 1947 in
6Litchfield; his parents were Joseph William and Catherine (nee
7Sackach) Bohn; he married Barbara "Bunny" Gross on April 24,
81971 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Charles Bohn served his country as a member of the
10United States Marine Corps; he was a recipient of a Purple
11Heart for his service during the Vietnam War; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Charles Bohn retired from Olin Corporation after
13many years of service; he was a member of the Carpenter Local
14377 in Wood River; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Charles Bohn was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
16Church in Alton; he was a lifetime member of the Alton Veterans
17of Foreign Wars Post 1308, a lifetime member of the Purple
18Heart Society, a member of the Alton Eagles Lodge 254, a
19volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club in Alton, and a volunteer
20at the YWCA; and

1    WHEREAS, Charles Bohn was a loyal St. Louis Cardinals
2Baseball fan and Notre Dame Football fan; he also enjoyed
3gardening, cooking, baking, and fishing; he volunteered his
4carpentry skills to everyone and helped rebuild the Lodge at
5the Nature Institute in Godfrey; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Charles Bohn was preceded in death his parents and
7his brothers, John and Joe Bohn; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Charles Bohn is survived by his wife, Barbara; his
9children and their spouses, Jennifer and Joseph Rister, Patrick
10and Amy Bohn, and Natalie Bohn (fiance, Kevin Young); his
11grandchildren, Paige, Brooke, and Morgan Rister and Haley and
12Hadley Bohn; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Barbara Bohn, Ed
13and Kema Bohn, and Philip and Donna Bohn; and his sisters and
14brothers-in-law, Madeline and James Haine and Anne and Terry
15Jensen; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
18family and friends, mourn the passing of Charles Patrick Bohn;
19and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Charles Bohn as an expression of our
22sympathy.
