SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Sharon Lynn McDowell, who passed away on
4February 18, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sharon McDowell was born in Chicago on August 18,
61948 to Warren and Dorothy McDowell; she attended St. James
7Elementary School and graduated from DuSable High School in
8Chicago in 1967; she later attended Wilson College in
9Pennsylvania; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Sharon McDowell worked as a cook in the family
11restaurant until retiring in 1984; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Shay-Shay", Sharon
13McDowell enjoyed cooking, skating, knitting, singing, and
14dancing; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Sharon McDowell was preceded in death by parents,
16and by her sister, Joyce Faye Williams; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Sharon McDowell is survived by her children,
18Brenda (Mack) Carmicheal, Anthony Williams, Alonzo McDowell,
19and Antonio McDowell; her grandchildren, Joyce Sparks, Kayla
20Carmicheal, and Antoinette McDowell; her sisters, Jacqueline

1Linzy, Barbara Reed, and Karen Buntyn; her brother, Melvin
2McDowell; and her 4 nephews and 7 nieces; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Sharon Lynn McDowell, and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Sharon McDowell as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
