SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

525 ILCS 30/30 new

Amends the State Parks Act and the Illinois Natural Areas Preservation Act. Provides that veterans shall not be charged fees for rentals of pavilions or other meeting places or structures in a nature preserve or a State park.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning conservation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Parks Act is amended by adding Section 5 as follows:

(20 ILCS 835/5 new)

Sec. 5. Rental fees; veterans. The Department shall not charge a fee to veterans who served in the armed forces of the United States for rentals of pavilions or other meeting places or structures in a State park.

Section 10. The Illinois Natural Areas Preservation Act is amended by adding Section 30 as follows:

(525 ILCS 30/30 new)

Sec. 30. Rental fees; veterans. No person, entity, or State agency shall charge a fee to veterans who served in the armed forces of the United States for rentals of pavilions or other meeting places or structures in a nature preserve.
