1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Daniel "Danny" Fortuna on
4 becoming President of the National Conference of Public
5 Employee Retirement Systems; and

6     WHEREAS, Daniel Fortuna served as a fire fighter for the
7 Chicago Fire Department from November 16, 1978 to March 15,
8 2008; and

9     WHEREAS, Daniel Fortuna worked for Chicago Fire Fighters
10 Local Union 2 as a Steward from 1999 to 2008, and as Director
11 of Public Relations from 1999 to 2008; and

12     WHEREAS, Daniel Fortuna is currently the District 1
13 Vice-President of the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois; and

14     WHEREAS, Daniel Fortuna currently serves on the Illinois
15 Fire Fighter Medal of Honor Committee; and

16     WHEREAS, Daniel Fortuna is currently an elected board
17 member of the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement
18 Systems; and

19     WHEREAS, Daniel Fortuna will become the President of the

1 National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems on
2 May 18, 2016; therefore, be it

3     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
5 congratulate Daniel "Danny" Fortuna on becoming President of
6 the National Conference of Public Employee Retirement Systems
7 and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it
8 further

9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to Daniel Fortuna as a symbol of our respect and
11 esteem.
