HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Illinois State Trooper Cynthia Pfau on the occasion of her performance in the Texas Police Games and winning five gold medals during her participation; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Pfau graduated from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas with a bachelor's degree in computer science as well as a Bachelor of Science in biology; and

WHEREAS, Trooper Cynthia Pfau was hired on June 29, 2008 with the Illinois State Police; Cynthia is a member of the Region III Crowd Control Team, a certified Motorcycle Officer, and a Field Training Officer; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Pfau is an active supporter of various fundraisers such as Cop on a Rooftop, which raises money for the Special Olympics; and

WHEREAS, Trooper Cynthia Pfau won five gold medals during her participation in the 39th annual Texas Police Games, hosted by the Texas Police Athletic Federation; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Pfau competed and won gold medals in the triathlon, 5k run, 10k run, mountain bike race, and sniper/precision rifle competition; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we thank Illinois State Trooper Cynthia Pfau for her accomplishments in the Texas Police Games, congratulate her on receiving five gold medals, and wish her all the best in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Cynthia Pfau as an expression of our congratulations and appreciation for a job well done.
