HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to honor Jessie Ann Foley of Jefferson Park on her book, "The Carnival at Bray", being named as one of the best books written for young adults by the American Library Association; and

WHEREAS, This is the first book written by Jessie Foley, an English teacher at Taft High School; and

WHEREAS, "The Carnival at Bray" won the 2014 Helen Sheehan Young Adult Book prize and was picked to launch Elephant Rock Books' new young adult imprint; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Jessie Ann Foley on her book, "The Carnival at Bray", being named as one of the best books written for young adults by the American Library Association; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jessie Foley as an expression of our esteem and respect.
