HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Meridian High School boys basketball team, the Bobcats, on a successful 2014-2015 season; and

WHEREAS, The Bobcats finished as the Class 1A State runner-up after falling to Brimfield High School in a close game 56 to 52; and

WHEREAS, The Bobcats fell behind by 12 points during the championship game and nearly pulled out a comeback victory; and

WHEREAS, The Bobcats compiled a season record of 27 wins and 8 losses to reach the championship game; and

WHEREAS, The Bobcats are coached by Erik Griffin; the 2014-2015 season was his first year back as a high school boys basketball head coach since the 1991-1992 season at his alma mater, Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Meridian High School boys basketball team, the Bobcats, on a successful 2014-2015 season and wish them many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Bobcats as an expression of our esteem and respect.
