HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Fire Chief Michael Mavrogeorge on the occasion of being chosen to serve as the Chairman of the Illinois Fire Services Association; and

WHEREAS, Chief Mavrogeorge has dutifully served as the Fire Chief of the Saint Louis Downtown Airport since 2008; and

WHEREAS, Chief Mavrogeorge has served as a member of the Executive Board of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association since 2009; and

WHEREAS, The Illinois Fire Services Association is a partnership of the major organizations representing the fire service in Illinois to effectively promote and coordinate activities on common issues facing the fire service and the populace of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Member organizations of the Illinois Fire Services Association include the Illinois Society of Fire Service Instructors, the Illinois Firefighters Association, the Illinois Professional Firefighters Association, the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts, the Associated Firefighters of Illinois, the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance, the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS), the Chicago Fire Department, the Illinois Fire Service Institute, the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, the Illinois Fire Inspectors Association, and the Northern Illinois Alliance of Fire Protection Districts; and

WHEREAS, Chief Mavrogeorge will assume his duties on September 1, 2015; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Fire Chief Mike Mavrogeorge on the occasion of being chosen to serve as the Chairman of the Illinois Fire Services Association and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Michael Mavrogeorge as an expression of our congratulations.
