HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jesus
4Baldemar "Jesse" Vazquez of Montgomery, who passed away on
5January 12, 2015; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jesse Vazquez was born in Linares, Nuevo Leon,
7Mexico on November 28, 1963 and immigrated to the United States
8at the age of 10; he graduated from West Aurora High School and
9attended Waubonsee Community College; he served in the United
10States Marines and was discharged in 1988; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jesse Vazquez was an account executive with the
12Konen Insurance Agency; he also worked in the Youth Activities
13office at City Hall in Aurora and directed Rep. George
14Sangmeister's district office in Aurora; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jesse Vazquez represented the 8th District on the
16Kane County Board; he was first elected in 2008 and re-elected
17in 2012 and was a key Hispanic leader in the Aurora area; he
18served with the Montgomery Planning Commission for 18 years;
19with the Aurora Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; as
20Chairman of the Mental Health & Mental Retardation Board for 17
21years; with the YMCA Board of Directors; with the Cities in
22Schools Board of Directors; as Vice-Chairman of the Aurora

1Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Golf Committee; and as Chairman of
2the Illinois Hispanic Democratic Council; he also served with
3El Centro Pan Americano, the East Aurora Redevelopment Task
4Force, and the Fox Valley Freeway Advisory Committee; he was
5the driving force behind the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry on
6Highland Avenue and co-founder of Aurora Community Talks; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jesse Vazquez enjoyed golf, cooking, yard games,
8and spending time with family; he was a member of AmVets 103
9and the Fox Valley Marine Corps League; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jesse Vazquez was preceded in death by his nephew,
11Augustin Torres; his maternal grandparents; and his paternal
12grandparents; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jesse Vazquez is survived by his wife, Maria M.
14(nee Aviles) Vazquez; his 3 children, Eric B. (Danielle)
15Vazquez, Michael J. Vazquez, and Veronica Morgan Vazquez; his
16granddaughter, Rori A. Vazquez; his future grandson, Sebastian
17B. Vazquez; his parents, Maria E. (nee Aguirre) and Jesus P.
18Vazquez; his brother, Ricardo Vazquez; his 3 sisters, Laura
19(David) Dhom, Gloria (Ray) Torres, and Susana (Saul) Gutierrez;
20his parents-in-law, Socorro and Margarita Aviles; his
21sister-in-law, Margarita E. (Peter) Cozzoni; his
22brother-in-law, Carlos (Adella) Aviles; his sister-in-law,
23Lucia (Stephen) Butler; and his 21 nieces and nephews, Vanessa,

1Monica, Isabella, Mark, Alex, Ethan, Giselle, Esteban,
2Madalyn, Andrea, Celeste, Olivia, Sofia, Celeste, Dante,
3Devon, Lucas, Stephanie, Steven, Victoria, and Maya;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
7mourn the passing of Jesus Baldemar "Jesse" Vazquez, and extend
8our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who
9knew and loved him; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Jesse Vazquez as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
