HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Marge Friedman; and

WHEREAS, Marge Friedman's passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, as well as the community of Park Forest, where she served as a Village Clerk and Trustee; and

WHEREAS, Marge Friedman's commitment to serving her community also led her to work alongside former Illinois State Representative Michael Getty and former United States Representative George Sangmeister; and

WHEREAS, Marge Friedman was known for her community involvement and commitment to gender equality, actively encouraging women to get involved in civic and political activities; she also worked to further her deeply held beliefs by repeatedly serving as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention; and

WHEREAS, Marge Friedman was known as a kind, hospitable soul, always opening her home to others for countless events, gatherings and potluck dinners; and

WHEREAS, Marge Friedman is survived by her husband, Dr. George Scherr; her children, Julie Ehrlich, Joel, and Jeremy; her 6 grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Marge Friedman; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marge Friedman as an expression of our deepest sympathy and condolences.
