SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

220 ILCS 5/8-103B new

Amends the Public Utilities Act. Provides that the Illinois Commerce Commission shall issue a report evaluating the effectiveness of the 3-year planning and implementation timeline applicable to electric utilities' energy efficiency and demand-response plans and gas utilities' energy efficiency plans through May 31, 2014. Provides for repeal of the provisions on January 1, 2017. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding Section 8-103B as follows:

Sec. 8-103B. Energy efficiency study. No later than June 30, 2016, the Commission shall issue a report evaluating the effectiveness of the 3-year planning and implementation timeline applicable to electric utilities' energy efficiency and demand-response plans and gas utilities' energy efficiency plans as set forth in Sections 8-103 and 8-104 of this Act, respectively, through May 31, 2014.

This Section is repealed on January 1, 2017.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
