SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Eugenia C. Lenert of Aurora, who passed away on September 5, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Eugenia Lenert was born on September 27, 1923 in Aurora; her parents were Henry and Anna (nee Lentz) Bley; she married William E. Lenert, Sr. on August 30, 1947 in Aurora; and

WHEREAS, Eugenia Lenert graduated from Rosary College with a degree in math and physics; she began her career at the SDIC before working as a statistician for the Chicago Tribune; she later taught high school math and physics for many years; and

WHEREAS, Eugenia Lenert was a member of Holy Angels Church, where she was a member of the St. Anne Society; she was an original board member of Rosary High School; she also volunteered with numerous organizations, including the Holy Angels Food Pantry, Mercy Hospital, Hesed House, and many others; and

WHEREAS, Eugenia Lenert was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; and her son-in-law, Thomas A. Hurrell, Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Eugenia Lenert is survived by her children, Sharon (Dennis) Kripp, Sheila (Michael) Conners, William (Mary) Lenert, Jr., Marsha (Jeffrey) Moran, Joyce (Hal) Hindley, and Dianne Hurrell; her grandchildren, Colleen (Kevin) Dermody, Andrew (Allison) Kripp, Maura (Dave) Cannon, Brad (Katy) Conners, Doug (Sheena) Conners, Greg (Caroline) Conners, Katie (Tim) Oess, Bill (Sarah) Lenert, Mike (Katie) Lenert, J.R. Moran, Nick (Ali) Moran, Danielle Moran, Christy (Will) Hunzeker, Kyle Hindley, Tommy Hurrell, Mary Hurrell, and Sarah Hurrell; her 20 great-grandchildren; and her special friend and caregiver, Ala Bartoszewski; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Eugenia C. Lenert; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eugenia Lenert as an expression of our sympathy.
