SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Albert G. Kovacek of North Chicago, who passed away on July 17, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Albert Kovacek was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his family moved to Waukegan from West Allis, Wisconsin, and he attended Mother of God School and Waukegan High School; he enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II and married Kathryn Macinovich in 1946; and

WHEREAS, Albert Kovacek worked as a machinist for the U.S. Steel Wire Mill for nearly 40 years; he belonged to the steelworker pensioner's club; and

WHEREAS, Albert Kovacek was an avid mechanic, reader, and auto buff; he was also an avid traveler, driving from coast to coast on several occasions; he had many friends in Flying clubs around Chicagoland and accompanied many friends on trips to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America; and

WHEREAS, Albert Kovacek was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine Kovacek; his wife of 52 years, Kathryn; and his siblings, Mary Margaret, Ann Zupec, Josephine Kovacek, Sylvia Brown, John Kovacek, William Kovacek, Robert Kovacek, and Louis Dale; and

WHEREAS, Albert Kovacek is survived by his son, Duane (Diane); his granddaughter, Kristin; his brother, Edward; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Albert G. Kovacek, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Albert Kovacek as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
