| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert Douglas "Rob" Aper of Normal, who | 4 | | passed away on January 24, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Aper was born on September 7, 1970 in | 6 | | Lincoln; his parents were Floyd and Gail Aper; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Robert Aper attended Illinois State University | 8 | | before enlisting in the United States Army; he subsequently | 9 | | served in Korea and in Operation Desert Storm; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After his discharge from the Army, Robert Aper | 11 | | served as a Corrections Officer for the McLean County Sheriff's | 12 | | Office; he also worked as a Firefighter in Normal for 17 years; | 13 | | and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Robert Aper served on the Board of the Bloomington | 15 | | Cardinals Youth Football League and was a member of the | 16 | | League's medical staff, where he helped create mandatory | 17 | | concussion testing for all football players; he helped in the | 18 | | library at Parkside Elementary School and served as a pin man | 19 | | for wrestling, handing out pins to the wrestlers for their | 20 | | achievements; he also coached the Bloomington-Normal Baseball | 21 | | Association for many years; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Robert Aper is survived by 2 sons, Wil and RJ; his | 2 | | parents; a brother, Lt. Col. Rick (Lori) Aper; his loving | 3 | | partner, Julie Hopper; 5 nieces and nephews, Ryan Aper, David | 4 | | Hanck, Kristin Aper, Kaylee Aper, and Michael Aper; and his | 5 | | partner's children, Jordan (Patrick Drumm) Burns, Kailey | 6 | | Burns, and Jake Correa; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 9 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert Douglas "Rob" | 10 | | Aper; and be it further
