SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Leona Ferry of Lockport, who passed away on February 7, 2016 at the age of 93; and

WHEREAS, Leona Ferry was a member of St. Joseph Church in Lockport, Lockport Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5788 Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Slovenian Catholic Union or K.S.K.J.; and

WHEREAS, Leona Ferry was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward L. Ferry; her daughter, Carol Lee Ferry; her parents, Marko and Anna Cernetich; her sister, Ann Casanova; her brother, Leonard Cernetich; her daughter-in-law, Kathleen C. Ferry; and her maternal and paternal grandparents; and

WHEREAS, Leona Ferry is survived by her 2 devoted sons, John E. and Mark A. (Pat) Ferry; her 3 grandchildren, Mark G. (Angi) and Edward (Lauren) Ferry, and Matt (Miki) Hornbuckle; her 6 great-grandchildren, Paige, Allison, Lauren, Matthew, Natalie, and Alyssa; her 4 sisters-in-law, Florence Ferry, Jeanne Ferry, Carol Ferry, and Regina Wanda; and numerous nephews and nieces; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Leona Ferry, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Leona Ferry as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
