SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Evelyn L. Kidwell of Sullivan, who passed away on March 24, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Evelyn Kidwell was born on July 18, 1925 in Allenville; her parents were Willis Ansel and Marie Stokes Howard; she married William G. "Bill" Kidwell on March 11, 1945 in Bethany; and

WHEREAS, Evelyn Kidwell worked as the secretary for Sullivan Sale Barn from 1955 to 1960; she also served as the Moultrie County Clerk from 1968 to 1978 and worked in the Audit and Collection Department at the Illinois Department of Revenue; and

WHEREAS, Evelyn Kidwell was a member of the Sullivan First Christian Church and the Moultrie County Republican Women; she served as president of the Sullivan Women's Civic Club and the Sullivan Business and Professional Women's Club; she also served as a Moultrie County Republican Chairwoman and on the Moultrie County Board of Review; and

WHEREAS, Evelyn Kidwell was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; her brother, Glen Howard; and her sister, Mertie Barnes; and

WHEREAS, Evelyn Kidwell is survived by her children, Greg (Nancy) Kidwell, Kent (Debbie) Kidwell, Connie (Rodger) England, and Cynthia Kidwell; her sisters, Norma Hickenbottom and Fran Dudley; her grandchildren, Grant Kidwell, Brandon (Dana) Kidwell, Camie (Jeff) Mead, and Chris (Dana) England; and her great-granddaughters, Allyson England, Michaela Kidwell, Peyton Mead, and Emma Mead; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Evelyn L. Kidwell; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Evelyn Kidwell as an expression of our sympathy.
