SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ella F. Hallas of Zion, who passed away on April 15, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Ella Hallas was born on March 12, 1916 in Waukegan; her parents were Fabian and Mary Zlodi; she married Rudolph Hallas in 1935 in Belvidere; and

WHEREAS, Ella Hallas was educated in Waukegan schools; in 1952, she went to work at Abbott Labs, where she retired in 1972 after 20 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Ella Hallas was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waukegan and the Croatian Lodge; and

WHEREAS, Ella Hallas was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph; her daughter, Patricia (Chris) Anast; her five siblings; and two grandsons; and

WHEREAS, Ella Hallas is survived by her son, Robert (Ellen) Hallas; her granddaughter, Deborah (Randy) Roberts; her grandson, Robert Anast; her four other grandchildren; her seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Ella F. Hallas; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ella Hallas as an expression of our sympathy.
