SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward "Max" Dilley, who passed away on
4June 1, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Dilley was born on June 19, 1936 in
6Champaign; his parents were Dale and Ruth Dilley; he married M.
7Joyce Blaker on August 7, 1955 at the First United Methodist
8Church in Urbana; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Edward Dilley served his country in the Army
10National Guard; he was a firefighter for the City of Urbana for
1120 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Edward Dilley was a member of First United
13Methodist Church in Urbana since 1947 and a member of the
14Illini Collector Car Club; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Edward Dilley loved restored cars and showed many
16different ones, including a 1930 Model A, 1957 Thunderbirds,
17and 1965-1967 Mustangs; he also restored and rode Cushman
18motorcycles; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Edward Dilley was preceded in death by his parents
20and his sister, Janice McGrath; and

1    WHEREAS, Edward Dilley is survived by his wife, M. Joyce
2Dilley; his son, Jeff (Teresa) Dilley; his daughter, Jill (Jim)
3Thompson; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Bruno, Jeff
4Thompson, and Colton Dilley; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward "Max" Dilley;
8and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Edward Dilley as an expression of
11our sympathy.
