SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward "Max" Dilley, who passed away on June 1, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Edward Dilley was born on June 19, 1936 in Champaign; his parents were Dale and Ruth Dilley; he married M. Joyce Blaker on August 7, 1955 at the First United Methodist Church in Urbana; and

WHEREAS, Edward Dilley served his country in the Army National Guard; he was a firefighter for the City of Urbana for 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Edward Dilley was a member of First United Methodist Church in Urbana since 1947 and a member of the Illini Collector Car Club; and

WHEREAS, Edward Dilley loved restored cars and showed many different ones, including a 1930 Model A, 1957 Thunderbirds, and 1965-1967 Mustangs; he also restored and rode Cushman motorcycles; and

WHEREAS, Edward Dilley was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janice McGrath; and

WHEREAS, Edward Dilley is survived by his wife, M. Joyce Dilley; his son, Jeff (Teresa) Dilley; his daughter, Jill (Jim) Thompson; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Bruno, Jeff Thompson, and Colton Dilley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward "Max" Dilley; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward Dilley as an expression of our sympathy.
