SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Caryl Koepke May, who passed away on
4August 16, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Caryl May was born in Chicago to Herbert and Grace
6Koepke on October 3, 1939; she graduated from Woodland Grade
7School and Warren Township High School; she graduated from
8Carthage College in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education;
9she married Dr. Edward May on June 25, 1966; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Caryl May taught home economics at Warren Township
11High School from 1963 to 1967; after raising her four children,
12she worked at Matigian pre-school and The Camera Bag; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Caryl May was an award winning photographer, an
14honorary member of the Waukegan Rotary Club, and a supporter of
15Warren Township High School; she enjoyed traveling, playing
16bingo, and following the Chicago Cubs; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Caryl May was preceded in death by her parents;
18her brother, Donald (Karen) Koepke; and her aunt, Marjorie
19Tansor; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Caryl May is survived by her husband of 50 years,

1Edward; her children, Mary, David (Dawn), Marjorie (Bill), and
2Jennifer; her grandchildren, Kayleigh (Josh), Brandon (Kelly),
3Aaron, Cameron, Joshua, Lucas, Ross, Riley, Zachary, and Casey;
4her great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Oliver, and one due in
5November; her brother, David (Patti) Koepke; her cousins, Jim
6Tansor and Tom (Jean) Tansor; and numerous nieces and nephews;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Caryl Koepke May, and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Caryl May as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
