SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas Beckmann of Waukegan, who passed away on December 3, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Beckmann was born on October 22, 1930 and was a lifelong resident of Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from high school in 1948, Thomas Beckmann served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Beckmann had a long and distinguished career as a pipe fitter; he also owned several successful businesses in Lake County; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Beckmann enjoyed playing golf, watching the Chicago Cubs, and laughing; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Beckmann was preceded in death by his wife and soul mate of 44 years, Joan; his parents, William and Marie Beckmann; a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Charles Swanson; and a brother, Jack Beckmann; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Beckmann is survived by 2 children, Tim Beckmann and Mary Jo (Jeff) Keller; 4 grandchildren, Jon and Tim Beckmann and Ted and Molly Keller; a brother, Dr. William (Carol) Beckmann; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Thomas Beckmann; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Beckmann as an expression of our sympathy.
