SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lee Barrett; and

WHEREAS, Lee Barrett was born on December 11, 1937 in Camden, New Jersey; his parents were Frank and Grace Barrett; he married Carmen Rivera on April 15, 1966; he and his wife made their home in the Dundee area for the past 39 years; and

WHEREAS, Lee Barrett was a professional registered engineer with extensive experience in mechanical and electrical engineering; he was the President, owner, and operator of Barrett Engineering, Inc. in East Dundee; and

WHEREAS, Lee Barrett served his country as a member of the United States Army's Tank Corps and 82nd Airborne Division; and

WHEREAS, Lee Barrett was a member of AMVETS Post #202; he was a proud and loyal member of the Republican Party, an active part of Kane County politics, and a former member of the Kane County Board in District 21; he was a Precinct Committeeman for many years and a member and former officer of the Dundee Township Republican Central Committee; he was also a member of the Wicker Park Lutheran Church in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Lee Barrett was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Lloyd and Ernest; and a sister, Arlene Roloson; and

WHEREAS, Lee Barrett is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carmen; 2 daughters, Leigh and Eileen; a granddaughter, Taylor; a brother: Frank (Roberta) Barrett; and many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Lee Barrett; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lee Barrett as an expression of our sympathy.
