SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gerald J. White of Waukegan, who passed
4away on July 30, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerald White was born on January 22, 1932 in
6Waukegan; his parents were James and Frances White; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Gerald White served his country as a member of the
8United States Army for 2 years; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gerald White graduated from Waukegan High School
10in 1950; he subsequently earned a bachelor's degree from Notre
11Dame in 1958 and a master's degree from DePaul University; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gerald White was employed at Abbott Laboratories
13for 2 years; he later taught at St. Mary's High School in Mount
14Clemmons, Michigan for 4 years and at North Chicago High School
15for 30 years, teaching United States history and coaching
16baseball; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Gerald White was a counselor at the Culver
18Military Academy's Woodcraft Summer Camp for 20 years; he
19volunteered with the SPRED program at Most Blessed Trinity for
20many years; and

1    WHEREAS, Gerald White loved taking yearly trips to British
2Columbia and hiked in the mountains; he also enjoyed attending
3Notre Dame football games and the Chicago White Sox; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Gerald White is survived by a sister, Rhea White;
5his cousins, Violet Gibbs, Ralph Kenyon, Robert White,
6Marylinda Snow, Constance Wahlin, William Blake, Roger
7Grodeon, Ty Grodeon, Jeannine Gibbs-Heart, Kathleen (Roy)
8Anderson and her family, Richard (Candace) Kenyon and his
9family, Philip (Kimberly) Kenyon, and Mary (Robert) Fritz and
10her family; and his beloved dog, Ginger; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald J. White; and
14be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Gerald White as an expression of our
17sympathy.
