SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Laura Pearl Warnick of Elwin, who passed away on June 17, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Laura Warnick was born on July 29, 1927 in Moweaqua; her parents were Roy and Rosa (nee Larosa) Portwood; she married James Warnick on May 17, 1958; and

WHEREAS, Laura Warnick served as the Town Clerk of South Wheatland Township for over 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Laura Warnick was a member of the Elwin United Methodist Church and had played the piano at the church for over 50 years; she was also an active leader and pianist at the Bible Study Fellowship for 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Laura Warnick was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kathy; and a brother, Earl; and

WHEREAS, Laura Warnick is survived by her husband, Jim; a daughter, Julie McClarey; a grandson, Ryan McClarey; 2 granddaughters, Brittany (Matt) Buetow and Jennifer McClarey; and a great-grandson, Matthew Buetow; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Laura Pearl Warnick; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Laura Warnick as an expression of our sympathy.
