SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

745 ILCS 49/66 new

Amends the Good Samaritan Act. Provides that a person who in good faith and without fee administers epinephrine to another person who is suffering from a severe allergic reaction shall not be liable for civil damages as a result of his or her acts or omissions, except for willful or wanton misconduct on the part of the person in administering the epinephrine.

AN ACT concerning civil law.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Good Samaritan Act is amended by adding Section 66 as follows:

(745 ILCS 49/66 new)

Sec. 66. Epinephrine administration. A person who in good faith and without fee administers epinephrine to another person who is suffering from a severe allergic reaction shall not be liable for civil damages as a result of his or her acts or omissions, except for willful or wanton misconduct on the part of the person in administering the epinephrine.
