HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the passing of Bradley H. Veerman, a devoted public servant and esteemed member of the community who embodied the truest and most valiant virtues of a champion of public safety; and

WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was born in Joliet to June (Bailey) and Arthur H. Veerman Jr. on October 6, 1963; at the age of 16, he started his career with Kurtz Ambulance; and

WHEREAS, Prior to his passing, Bradley Veerman was the current Executive Director of the Laraway 9-1-1 Communications Center and a Will County Forest Preserve Police Officer, two positions that he carried out with the utmost respect and honor; and

WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was a former Communications Center Director at the Lincolnway Public Safety 9-1-1; he was a member of the East Joliet Fire Protection District for 23 years, where he retired as captain; he was a police officer for the cities of Frankfort and New Lenox; he was an employee at the New Lenox Communications Center and a former member of the Argonne National Laboratory Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, In addition to serving the community through his public safety roles, Bradley Veerman volunteered his time whenever and wherever he could in order to improve and protect his community; and

WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was a member of the Ingalls Park A.C., a member and past president of the New Lenox Fire Protection District Trustees, a member and past president of the New Lenox and Frankfort F.O.P., and past president of the East Joliet Fire Protection District Volunteer Organization; he served as a volunteer for numerous organizations and was a member of many boards; and

WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman leaves behind a great number of family, friends, and neighbors; he was the beloved husband of April (Pearcy); the loving father of Nicole Veerman and Kevin Veerman; and the brother of Arthur "Butch" (Rachel) Veerman III and Kathy (Duane) Hall-Roy; and

WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman's legacy lies in his genuine commitment to and care for his neighbor; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the loss of Bradley H. Veerman and celebrate his great accomplishments; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be delivered to his family as a symbol of our deepest sympathy.
