HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the passing of Bradley
4H. Veerman, a devoted public servant and esteemed member of the
5community who embodied the truest and most valiant virtues of a
6champion of public safety; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was born in Joliet to June
8(Bailey) and Arthur H. Veerman Jr. on October 6, 1963; at the
9age of 16, he started his career with Kurtz Ambulance; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Prior to his passing, Bradley Veerman was the
11current Executive Director of the Laraway 9-1-1 Communications
12Center and a Will County Forest Preserve Police Officer, two
13positions that he carried out with the utmost respect and
14honor; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was a former Communications
16Center Director at the Lincolnway Public Safety 9-1-1; he was a
17member of the East Joliet Fire Protection District for 23
18years, where he retired as captain; he was a police officer for
19the cities of Frankfort and New Lenox; he was an employee at
20the New Lenox Communications Center and a former member of the
21Argonne National Laboratory Fire Department; and

1    WHEREAS, In addition to serving the community through his
2public safety roles, Bradley Veerman volunteered his time
3whenever and wherever he could in order to improve and protect
4his community; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was a member of the Ingalls Park
6A.C., a member and past president of the New Lenox Fire
7Protection District Trustees, a member and past president of
8the New Lenox and Frankfort F.O.P., and past president of the
9East Joliet Fire Protection District Volunteer Organization;
10he served as a volunteer for numerous organizations and was a
11member of many boards; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman leaves behind a great number of
13family, friends, and neighbors; he was the beloved husband of
14April (Pearcy); the loving father of Nicole Veerman and Kevin
15Veerman; and the brother of Arthur "Butch" (Rachel) Veerman III
16and Kathy (Duane) Hall-Roy; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman's legacy lies in his genuine
18commitment to and care for his neighbor; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
20HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
21mourn the loss of Bradley H. Veerman and celebrate his great
22accomplishments; and be it further

2delivered to his family as a symbol of our deepest sympathy.
