HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Louise "Big Lou" Clayton McKinney, who passed away on September 6, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Louise McKinney was born to George Newton and Leeanner Clayton on September 28, 1946; and

WHEREAS, Louise McKinney was a building manager and security guard for the St. Louis Housing Authority until 1992; and

WHEREAS, Louis McKinney committed to her faith at an early age and attended Central Baptist; she then attended New Testament Christian Church, where she worshiped with Pastor Smith; she treated everyone like family and was considered a mother, a sister, a friend, and a grandmother to many; she was a woman of wisdom and many kind words; and

WHEREAS, Louise McKinney was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Johnson; her son, Carl Johnson; her mother; her brother, Herman Clayton; and her three special friends, Gail, Peggy, and Sherry; and

WHEREAS, Louise McKinney is survived by her twin brother, Louis (Pearl) Clayton; her children, Jerome (Anita) Clayton, Darlene (Kenneth) Harris, Lisa McKinney, Belinda McKinney, Theresa (Cortez Mack Sr.) McKinney, Victor Johnson McKinney, Yvette (Hollis Weaver Sr.) Johnson, and Carol (Keith) Howard-Johnson; her stepchildren, Latashia (David Garner) McKinney and Leroy McKinney; her granddaughters, LaQuita, Amy, Vichante, Ashley, Halle, Inger, Jasmine, and Corissa; her grandsons, Lorenzo, Priest, Jesse Jr., Donnell Jr., Kenneth Jr., Quintin, Malik, Maurice Jr., Kingston, Bryce, Keith Jr., Victor Jr., and Cortez Jr.; her great-granddaughters, Madison, Alisa, Dash, Kelese, Kamryn, Rochelle, Heaven, Kennedy, and Journee; her great-grandsons, Seman, Keion, LaQuan, Rodriquez, Darion, Lorenzo, Kenneth, and Josiah; her special godson, Rodney Holmes; and her many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Louise "Big Lou" Clayton McKinney and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Louise McKinney as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
