HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Pearl Lillian "Lil Bird" Mayfield of Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield was born to Postel and Rosie Mayfield on January 21, 1945; she graduated from North Chicago Community High School and was a lifelong resident of Waukegan/North Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield retired from Johnson Motors and W. W. Grainier; after her retirement she worked for Sheridan Health for several years; she was a hard worker and cultivated that same work ethic into her children; and

WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William Mayfield; her children, Rene Mayfield and Antoinette Nicholson; and her grandson, Jonathan Wilkins; and

WHEREAS, Pearl Mayfield is survived by her children, Rick (Myiesha) Coleman, Eugene Raymon Mayfield, Rita (Wesley) Sneed, Norman (Cynthia) Medley, and her adopted son, Bobby Gordon; eight grandchildren, Eric Mayfield, Rayen Mayfield, Ruben (Deondria) Sanchez, Xavier Coleman, Iyana Brunson, Kaylah Duty, Norman Medley Jr., and Desiree Medley; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Zoe, and Mila; her two sisters, May Bertha Poole and Gloria Carr; two brothers, John Mayfield and Rayburn (Linda) Mayfield; her two special nephews, Michael McBride, whom she regarded as a brother, and Jeff McBride; her two nieces, Claudean Thompson and Edra Stewart; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and other family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Pearl Lillian "Lil Bird" Mayfield, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Pearl Mayfield as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
